Wander, Gluttony, Squander
For a poor student like me, P100 is already big. For a college taker, it’s equivalent to a one-day allowance, or for others, enough for the expenses for three to five days. But this day proves how spendthrift I am.
Within 6 hours only, I spent a more or less P400 including the fares for just an unplanned ramble with two friends.
First stop yesterday afternoon was LP Hypermart at Bagacay. We find the place boring so we just strolled around the place, gazed at the beds, mattresses, sports equipment, and kitchen utensils with a thought of “can we buy these things when we’ll have our own families?” hmmm, just a looking forward to a married life.
We bought junk foods, but since their food court is closed on Sundays (which we are not aware of and which we hate so much), we transferred to Steds-Calindagan for a purpose—to drink soda. But there’s no 1-liter soft drink available, so we decided to get to the nearest store. No, not a store, but a mall. We not only took snack, but ate dinner at Mang Inasal while waiting for our schedule to watch the Sorcerer’s Apprentice film. Perfect! I haven’t eaten lunch, so Mang Inasal is the best solution. I love the unlimited rice and the “kamayan” eating.
Then we watched at Cinema 3. The money I paid for the film was worth. It was a great movie, because all the elements of film are present, except tragedy. We were stocked in a super (over-over) air-conditioned surrounding for four hours, so after enjoying the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, our body demands a warm environment. We thought of a no better remedy for that craving, and what came to our minds was Food Net. Only Food Net can answer our desire to sip a hot soup, specifically, beef soup. We can’t have the soup if we won’t order, so my other friend bought a fruit salad, while I just go for soft drink. We asked three bowls of soup, enough for the three of us.
After the sipping session, we went to the boulevard to glimpse the calming view of the sea and the bay, and to feel the natural cold. We agreed to have the same routine every weekend, preferably on Sundays. So we need to save money for that arrangement. Kinahanglan magtigum ug kwarta para sa laag next Sunday, hmmmn… We’re targeting to watch Salt by Angelina Jolie next week (if it would be shown na) or Incepcion by Leonardo de Caprio.
At 10pm, we went to our every boarding house, and that’s the end of the rove for the day.
