A prayer for the 2007 success and blessings
Lord, thank you very much! I have nothing else to say, but the big “thank you” for the year 2007.
In this year, a lot of beautiful, happy and wonderful events happened to my life.
First was the birth of Amanda. She is such a very wonderful gift to our family. She is a blessing. You gave Amanda to us, being born healthy and living her daily existence with a smile. Everybody, from the root to the fruits loves her so much.
Next was my fulfillment in high school. After those four years of struggle and competition, I reap the fruits. Even if I was not able to get the top1 spot, but I still made Mama and Papa proud of me; even if I was only a salutatorian, but I am the valedictorian in their lives. I am the topnotcher in their hearts. Without them, I won’t be able to achieve the award, because they are the one who trained and motivated me to strive hard to be recognized as an honor student. That’s why all the achievements I gained and will be gained are dedicated to them.
Third was my 16th birthday. You gave me another year to enjoy life through the failures and success I encountered. You gave me additional time to prove to people the real me, and to meet others.
Fourth was my acceptance as a member of The NORSUnian, our weekly student publication. I never thought I would pass the screening and interview because all of us are good and wit, but only 8 will be accepted. How thankful I was to receive a text message being congratulated as one of the successful applicants as their new writer. It was wow, unexpected, really unexpected! But I think I am really destined to be one of them, to be a writer.
Last was when you gave me Uncle Ranie and Auntie Emie whom I consider as my second parents. They accepted me, they open their doors to let me in, and live with them without asking for anything in return. They are a very big blessing for me too. You could only imagine, Uncle Ranie, a person not related to you, would accept you and treat you like his own relative. Auntie Emie and Uncle Ranie are my angels in Dumaguete. I hope everyone is like them.
Lord, may you give me and my family a blissful, peaceful, and happy 2008. may you won’t leave in our sides in times of trouble, accidents, and pains.
May this year, 2008 be another successful year to my career as a student journalist, writer, a Christian, an obedient and respectful daughter, and a good citizen.
May this year be a blissful year to us.
