Darkness to brightness
My second day of duty is a total “blank”. Yesterday I revised six articles. The wife of the editor-publisher proof read it. I corrected the articles as told by her. I’m done, yet, I can’t print the final output because the machine is not functioning. I don’t have flash drive to transfer the MS Word and print it on the other machine.
The people are not friendly as they are busy in their works. I’m totally in darkness. I don’t know what to do as I can’t approach them. God help me, what will I do?
Then one of the employees came to get a document from the computer I’m using. She talked to me, I responded. She went out, another employee came in. She photocopied at the Xerox machine. Of course, Dora is a super FC, so I chatted with her. At least, my presence will be useful and my mouth won’t end up drying.
The previous said that I don’t have bulk of works that afternoon yet, because there will come a time that I will need to finish everything within the last hour. Ahh, I want to experience it now! (haha, hilasa sa baye uy)
But suddenly, my boss called me to correct the court decision sent by a lawyer. His wife sat beside me. We found lots of errors in the paper, we reviewed it many times, and there were really many mistakes.
On the positive side, one thing I've observed with his wife was that, she's different from him. I mean, in comparing their attitudes, the husband can't even reach half of the kindness of his wife. Opposites do really attract.
Then another task came—to translate the Cebuano article to English, in print style. It was easy, provided with the facts and all you need to do is only change the language. But it was quite long that's why I finished it for an hour.
Before leaving the office, I finished all the day tasks, including the printing of the articles I've written. That's my second day of duty at the new job.
