The honest driver
Could you still find honest people today? I am referring to people who find expensive, valuable things, yet return it to the owner.
I’m glad I found one. He’s a tricycle driver. I wasn’t able to get his name but his vehicle’s plate number is 0601. He’s one of the few honest ones.
Yesterday afternoon, we were heading back to school after the interview with the Civil Service Commission-Negros Oriental Director. Manong driver didn’t notice the N72 Nokia phone that was left in his tricycle, it was us who saw it.
The phone was locked, there was a security code for it to be opened. Manong traced the area where the passengers stopped. According to him, there were two students riding before, thus he was doubting if who among them was the owner. He tried and utilized the time to find back the owner. We went in front of the hall of justice where the woman stopped, but she was not anymore. We proceeded to the Medical Hospital to look for the male student-nurse, but he was not among those who were there.
But Manong never lose hope. Instead, his final destination was the DYG, a radio station where two of our instructors in Mass Communication are working. He went upstairs while we waited for him inside the tricycle. He surrendered the phone to a journalist whom he described as “short”. Ahh, “that was Sir Dx,” we told him.
Manong’s act was heroic. He’s a very honest driver, I seldom see that attitude among drivers this time. He said that the incident was the first time when he found a costly thing is left in his vehicle. “Ma-konsensiya man gud ta kung di nato i-uli,” wow this words from him made our hearts delighted. <
I’m very proud of you Manong! Keep up, you did a good and praising job.

Honesty is an individual thing, I am optimistic that the Lord still has people here on earth who will choose to be honest first. I still believe in Right and Wrong, I trust God will always send those people my way.

thanks for the comment. Yeah, I also believe that Lord has left more honest people on earth. Many do still remain here, hehe... God bless you!
