Learning (coz it's part of growing up)

"First time to get dizzy, but not my first attempt to drink. You know what I mean..."

It was a fulfilling day. We’ve interviewed our target interviewee, Mr. Jumawan regarding our investigative report. We had our OJT reporting. Successful! It was fun. We had a party. Our letter for Dr is approved. Finally, we can interview him so we can move a step forward on our investigative requirement. This is really a tough one, hoh!

We waited for an hour for the said interview, but he seems have long hours of attending the event at BSP, so we decided to go to Judge Maxino’s office at the Hall of Justice.

When we’re there, ahai, there is this same condition again—presenting a letter of permission before consulting the source. Not to waste time, we went to the nearest internet café to have the letter printed (just editing the contents of the letter we gave to Dr). However, there was something wrong in it. The words “would like to” was not written. Thus, it sounds like ‘we are already given the consent to interview the addressee’. Anyways, stay positive! We’re only humans and we forgot to write those words.

While walking through the hall, we even cracked jokes. What if we’ll tell them “sorry na gud ma’am, nalimtan ug print ang ‘would like to’,” haha… Others can’t relate to this post maybe.

I went inside Branch 32 (Maxino’s office) and told the secretary concerning the error in the letter. I love her response, “ok ra nah, as long as ang grammar sakto.” Wow, bravo ma’am! She then instructed me to wait for her text message that will serve as the signal that the judge is ready for interview. Okay, no problem! We headed back to our every house. That’s the end of our investigatory journey for the day.

At the evening, this is what I described as “Dora’s surprising faint”. One plastic of “pancit” was left from our salo-salo at lunch (that was after our OJT reporting at the MC office). We kept it together with the other loaves of slice breads. So that’s what we ate at night.

I was late. Thank God that they left something for me, hehe… After that, the group proposed to drink—“The Bar” specifically.

Everyone wanted to taste the “strawberry” flavor, but no store sells it. Okay, “orange” it was instead. “I’m learning,” that’s all I can say that’s why “The Bar” is not new to me. I already tasted it, but only a little. It’s part of growing up, yeah! When will you start taking pleasure in this type of juice (haha)? I believe I’m in the right age, the right time, so it’s no longer bad. And to think, I only drink a little amount of it, and hmmn, I only drink one type of liquor.

On that session honestly, I only had two shots. But why did it instantly turned me lightheaded? I didn’t get it. That may be is the effect of the liquor when…when I don’t really know. I can’t explain!

I told some of my mates, they explained to me that that’s the result when you’re not taking or dipping in a water. Unlike the previous that was timely to our celebration at the beach. Ahh, that’s it! I get the point now.

I surrendered. I felt dizzy. I was definitely tipsy.

Others thought that I got drunk, but I want to clear things out that it’s not true. It was only slight, because I still knew where to walk, where the way is, I can talk with an idea, etcetera. “I’m okay and I’m alive!”

Back to my room, I still felt the weight in my head. I didn’t feel sleepy so I arranged my messy things at the cabinet. I found the IDs of my high school classmates (since I kept them), and placed it in a more secure envelope. Later, I turned on the mp of my roommate, sent quotes to my co-tm users, and slept. I forced my self to rest because I needed to. I know my world was not fine that night.

Oh my, I’m sorry. That was the first time of feeling it, but I still knew what is happening to me. I was not drunk, I only got tipsy on the night of July 28. That one was unforgettable.
