Something horrifying
I never regret choosing the Provincial Agriculture’s Office as my beat agency for a major subject, Communication in an Educational Environment. I met and interviewed the Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Jacinto Silot. He’s very approachable. He did not only explain to me the organizational structure and the annual budget for the department, but also shared to me horror stories, since his career as a college professor and now that he’s connected to his field.
There were three interesting spots he told—about the ghost stories at La Limar Beach Resort (in La Libertad), Katipunan Hall (in Silliman University), his office (where we had that conversation).
We came up with these stories when he asked about my hometown. When I answered La Libertad, La Limar encounter tickled his mind.
He told me that the resort has something creepy in it. It would be long to write the experiences he shared, but I was convinced with it. The other employees who went at the resort for seminar and stayed for 2 nights also have their own stories.
The next topic was on the Katipunan Hall of Silliman University. He taught at the Graduate School of SU and he used to conduct classes at the conference room of the building. The hall was known for scary accounts because of its old age and structure, and Mr. Silot is a witness to the mysteries happening in that building. There were many stories he shared to me about the place.
Last was at his own office. He even pointed out to me some objects which are extraordinary not only to him and the employees, but also to the visitors.
We’re like having story-telling that afternoon. Aside from the information I get, of attaining my objective in visiting the office, I also come to know a bit of his personality.
The next time that I’ll visit the agency, I’m sure I’ll have more stories to hear.
